Further to my last article about the various challenges faced by the Internet of Things (IoT) Industry we have to arrive basic consensus with certain critical issues.

First and foremost, we need to address the wireless IoT network protocol issues. There are more than 20 plus IoT network protocols like Bluetooth, ZigBee, Z-Wave, NB-IoT, RFID, WIFI, LoRaWAN, etc. confounding the issues.

The Internet Consortium which is agreeable across the globe represented by various manufacturers of such devices should be formed.

The protocol which is easily implementable across the board should be standardised. Once the industry agrees on this single protocol the OEM/ ODM manufacturers of IoT gateways should immediately shift over to this single protocol.

Once the Industry leaders start to adopt the open source implementations the small time manufacturers would easily find their market. The simplified solution is for the IoT industry to invent an exclusive IoT protocol which will then eliminate the above complexities.

The manufacturers of the end-user IoT devices to then use this exclusive IoT protocol which enables the plug and play type of usability at the device level itself.

This will then enable for the market to grow at a phenomenal pace.
